BEST ORDER:
Know the best order to decorate. Pick out most expensive / most limiting pieces first, generally, pick paint last.

GET INSPIRED:
Draw your inspiration from an area rug, a favorite piece of artwork, or a certain fabric that you love. If you don’t use a single element as a starting point, decorating your room can be overwhelming because of too many choices.

FEEL & FUNCTION:
Decide formal or informal – if formal, use more symmetrical styles & accessories (think even #’s); if informal, use an asymmetrical style (think odd #’s. 3, 5, 7). How a room will be used? By children / family – fabrics should be durable; by adults or only on special occasions – fabrics can be more luxurious (silk & velvet, yet more expensive).

KNOW COLOR IMPACT:

Interchange accessories from season to season to create a fresh new look you’ll enjoy for years. Reversible items are wonderful – this is the best approach to custom bedding!

FINISHING TOUCHES:
Don’t depend solely on overhead lighting; lamps give a room a more intimate feel. Accessories complete the room.
