Our Lead Designer, Nicole, worked with Maria to transform her home over a 2 year window of time. We started out in the dining room and (10 rooms later) are still working on finishing the mud room. Now it is possibly the most gorgeous Montgomery home ever!

We didn’t completely empty this room out and start over– Maria had moved everything out of it into the conservatory because she ‘just couldn’t take it any more’!
Ultimately, the new rug was the inspiration for everything in this room. All 3 core pieces of furniture were reupholstered, new throw pillows were added, and custom window treatments created to pull the look together beautifully. We even added art and lamps to finish this space!
Maria’s family LOVES to entertain and enjoys many large parties in this space every year. It was originally rather overcrowded with a buffet cabinet on one side of the table and too small a china cabinet on the other side. We suggested getting rid of the buffet and having a stunning builtin created to house all the special dishes and server pieces she loves to use for all the family holidays and parties.
The end result now feels SO much bigger and functions much better for all their family needs. Note, we didn’t source any new furniture for this room….just designed the builtin, repainted, provided custom window treatments and a great new rug!
Maria and her husband love their kids and 4 dogs, but the two of them needed to reclaim their space as their own! Out…out went all the stuff for the dogs and the kids! Back to having a truly special retreat for husband and wife to enjoy!
A stunning new upholstered shapely headboard was sourced, new rugs, nightstands, lamps, custom bedding….and all on an amazing new backdrop of deep navy with beautiful molding detail put in by our talented crew!
Once the color scheme for the master suite was decided, the plan fell into place and Maria jumped on the chance to add these beautiful pieces to her space!
Floral drapes, blackout Roman shades with crystal trim details, comfy swivel rocker chairs, a plush new rug, and a leather ottoman were added by Distinctive Interior Designs.
The look of a stunning space can practically be ‘destroyed’ by the wrong window treatment. Check out the difference this ‘small’ change made!
This elegant shapely cornice with overlaying swags was created out of a beautiful faux silk damask. Privacy was addressed with a flat/ boxed pleated cafe panel.
Accessories were the main items that Distinctive Interior Designs sourced for this room. A small set of items, but, WOW, what an impact!
And last but not least, we helped Maria’s daughter to go from sweet baby years to a true teenager with this amazing Victoria Secret themed teen space. Besides adding loads of great color, texture and bling, we made sure to provide plenty of seating options for her to enjoy hanging out with all her friends!
